Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ = OSiS+ Love!

Hello friends,

As you may know, I have been trying out some free products from my Influenster Spring VoxBox.  I will go into detail with the other products on their own, but I wanted to give a few separate blog post shout outs about some of my favorite products from the box.

Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ "Dust It" was included in my box, which was based on my questions that I answered in a pre-interview survey.

I liked the shape of the bottle, it wasn't too big or awkward to hold. Since it was so compact, it was easy to toss in my bag to use before happy hour or to freshen up my hair after the gym when I didn't have time to wash and style my hair right away.

The volume was great! The texture was nice and I would advise applying it around your roots and especially around the crown area. I teased it a bit around that area and/or use my finger tips to tousle it and get a messier look. I really liked the way the powder worked with my current short/medium swing bob. The higher the hair, the closer to God, right? ;)

All in all, I am very impressed with my OSiS+ Dust It Powder! Let me know if you have any questions about the product and I'll be happy to answer them!

Here's the link to the website for Schwarzkopf Professional USA if you would like to see what other awesome products they have or would be interested in purchasing and trying it on your own.

Happy Hairstyling!

Fysiko Eyelash Growth Serum: First Review

Hello Friends,

Recently I decided to check out a website called Influenster. Influenster lets you participate in testing of products and basically they send you free products and you let them know what you think! The first event that I'm participating in is with Fysiko Eyelash Growth Serum. I took some before pictures and I can already tell you that it's working! I'll just make this first post general because it's a 16-week program, and follow up with my results, which I am sure are going to be amazing.

Here's to Longer Lashes!

Picking Up Where I Left Off

Hello!

I know that it's a bit strange, but I like greeting anyone who would be reading this. Greetings make you feel welcome, and hopefully you will feel welcomed in reading my blog. Kick you shoes off, and you know, stay a while.

A couple of things have been going on since I last posted (like a month ago!). I know, I know... I'm a slacker with my blog posts, but at least I've been slacking for legit reasons. I will try to fit in more entries than just once a month. Who wants to read something once a month anyway?

  • I have restarted C25K and I'm about 2 runs away from where I stopped last time. I am horrible, but I think I'm actually getting marginally less horrible at it. Who would have thunk?
  • I signed up for a 5K in June! I'm pretty excited that I'm making myself do it and my other half signed up, too.  He could run circles around me, but he is also the one who helps me push myself. He takes classes at another gym when I run, so hopefully I'll just get really good at it and he'll be somewhat surprised!
  • One of my best gals got engaged and asked me to be in her wedding. I think I might pop over to Ruffles With Love's website and pick up one of these cute thangs.
  • My best friend gave me her extra FitBit (thanks, Lauren!) and it's been making me more aware of just how sedentary my lifestyle can be. Being able to see how many steps I have taken is making me more motivated to get my body moving. Seriously I was literally jogging around the house thinking "Who the eff is this person? It's surely not the old me!" I love that it syncs up to My Fitness Pal for calorie adjustments, too.
  • I've been weighing myself more regularly. Maybe I will have to start taking pictures of my scale to do a "Weight In Wednesday" type of thing on my blog like Tara has over on her blog. Think Thin Thursdays? Before I screw it all up over the weekend? My scale has been floating around the same 3 numbers, so it hasn't been worth posting. You would be as bored and disappointed as I was. I should leave it up to Instagram Land to hold me accountable. The fitness bloggers that I follow on there are crazy inspirational. I've never met so many positive people who help me want to make myself better. Putting yourself into the right mindset and surrounding yourself with the best environment is 90% of what determines how you will accomplish your goals.  Eating right and moving your ass is the other 9%. (What is statistical data without a count for margin of error?)
  • Someone made me send them a #flexbreak picture.... Now I guess I really have to start working on my muscles now, huh?

Thanks for reading my blog, I understand that not everyone will like the "list-type" approach but ironically that's really how I run my life. If it's not on a mental checklist, it's on paper. That way I can cross things off and feel accomplished. Next time I'll try to throw in some extra products I use and what I consider to be my favorites at the moment. I'm crossing my fingers and toes that I get an Influenster box in the mail soon. Then I can hopefully rave about the product(s) that they send me!

Stay lovely,
 -Jenn

Moving Away, In More Than One Way

Hello!

I know it's been a while... More like a little over a month, to be exact! Fortunately, I wasn't just sitting around this whole time, many things have changed since last months blog post.

  • I moved. Thus lending myself to some scheduling changes and some pure exhaustion. Moving is a pain in the ass, no matter how you slice it.
  • I weighed myself again. After being pleasantly surprised damn near giving myself a heart attack (which at my weight seems like a real possibility these days), I realized that I need to get back into good habits. This being said: No more terrible fast food, no more guessing at portion sizes, no more sitting on my ass. Period.
  • I got a gym membership. I was doing really well before I moved because we had a gym in our loft building. I vowed to start running outside once we moved, and I was actually looking forward to it. I finally live someplace where I can run outside and enjoy the fresh air (read: not get jumped by hoodlums). Unfortunately, no sooner did we move that the weather took a definite turn for the worst. We have since had insane amounts of rain, extreme low temperatures, and a few serious snows all within this past month. Working outside wasn't working out. Surprisingly, for the first time in my life, I'm actually motivated to get up and move my body instead of watching my DVR and eating Doritos on the couch.
  • I'm changing my habits.  I've started using MyFitnessPal again and I'm tracking my foods as well as exercise routine. I've already started trying to mentally plan meals for the week before I go to the store. Then I jot down a little game plan as to what to use when, usually according to what I can use up before it goes bad. This house is stocked full of healthy food now. (Besides those damn Girl Scout Cookies that showed up months after I forgot about ordering them!) I'm making some great meals and then before I sit down to cry at the Biggest Loser eat, I will package up my lunch for the next day. I know as soon as I hit that leather sofa it. is. not. happening.  The upside is that it's making my morning routine way easier since I'm not scrambling to prepare for the day and I'm finding time to make reasonable breakfasts.  Oh yeah, and it's helping me save money for my Kiki La'Rue addiction piggy bank.
Things are looking up this week -- Daylight Savings Time ain't got nothing on this girl! But seriously, I should probably go to bed so that I can attempt to hit the gym around 5:30 tomorrow morning.

Stay Lovely,
 -Jenn

Introductions

Hello.

My name is Jenn.

I'm not sure how you got here, but I'm glad you found me. If you decide to stay, you'll find out about my everything. What exactly, you say? I mainly started this to describe my wayfaring from chunky chick to fit femme.  I'm trying to get healthier for my family, for my significant other, for my pet, and most importantly: for me. I'll probably share a little of my style, what beauty products I'm obsessing with, photographs I adore and recipes that I can't stop talking about.

I am enamored by social media outlets so you can find me on Instagram and Keek, as well.

I figured introductions are an important part to meeting new people. If you have a good introduction, you can form a great beginning.

From here on out, I think we're going to be great friends.
